Bar-B-Bra Grill Covers Will They Last? Yes They Will!

I have a great grill and that GREAT grill came with a grill cover. Looked really nice until Arizona's Monsoon season came. That black piece of plastic shredded into little pieces and ended up in my neighbors pool. Luckily, it didn't have my name on it.

So we began the process of creating the Bar-B-Bra. The named seemed appropriate in keeping with The Spa Bra, LLC theme.

The Spa Bra™, LLC's newest product addition is The Bar-B-Bra Grill Cover. Made of a durable, weather resistant outdoor Sunbrella material, The Bar-B-Bra will give valuable protection to your grill for years to come. All Bar-B-Bra's are custom made to your grill's dimension, adding a tailored fit and fitting snugly over your grill to give it maximum protection from the blazing summer sun. We can customize your cover with your favorite sports team logo or your favorite team members number on them. (Dale Earnhardt Jr 88)

Sunbrella has a wide range of solid colors and prints to choose from. Coordinate your Bar-B-Bra with your current outdoor patio color scheme. The Bar-B- Bra Grill Cover starts at 100.00 and pricing is based on Small, Medium or Large Grill.

Most grills come with a flimsy black grill cover that may last one season if it doesn't end up in your neighbors pool two blocks away. The first Monsoon dust storm will most assuredly send it flying or shred it into tiny plastic black pieces that you'll be picking up for days. You'll love the colors and the durability that The Bar-B-Bra offers. The cinch at the bottom helps to keep the cover on and secured.

The Bar-B-Bra Grill Cover is going to be the next big thing to sweep through your neighborhood and Dad will gloat that he was the first to sport the new BBBGC!

Romantic Evenings Beneath The Beautiful Arizona Sky

Romancing in your spa, beneath the gorgeous Arizona sky can be one of the most incredible experiences of your life.

In the month of March the temperatures are still cool in the evenings and the skies are clear and bright. With your spa strategically placed in a secluded area in your yard, the sky is the limit. Literally the winter sky will take your breath away.

OK, so you have the spa and you have a romantic setting, now with a little planning you and your sweet-pea are in for a great evening. It takes just a few moments of thought to create an evening of romance, passion and pleasure. Take some notes here, you'll be happy you did.

Make sure the temperature is not to HOT! I keep mine at 100 degrees. This allows you to stay in the spa for a longer period of time. Hotter the water, the less time you should spend in it. Or will WANT to spend in it. For this evening, longer will prove to be better so lower the temperature.

Select some of your favorite music..Andrea Boccelli...my personal favorite, or perhaps a little jazz or contemporary Michael Buble. Whatever your genre choice, make sure it's soft and sexy, creating an atmosphere that is relaxing and inviting.

Share a glass (or bottle)of wine while your cuddling up together. Perhaps a chilled bottle of champagne. Chilled and stored next to the spa so that leaving the moment, to pour another glass of champagne or wine takes only seconds. Place your wine or champagne glasses on the ledge of the spa if it allows enough room to do so. It looks beautiful and appears that you really paid a great deal of attention to detail. You can purchase fluted plastic glasses that will be safe for the spa area, but I love the real thing! Just have to be extra careful if you're using glass.

Perhaps having a fresh plate of fruit and cheese could add to the atmosphere. Your choice on this one. Make it fresh and make it light!

Soft, romantic lighting around your spa can help to intensify the mood. Candles clustered together are perfect. Choose candles that have a pleasurable aroma. Be sure to put them on a decorative plate. Wax on the spa will not hurt it but why take the chance.

I like to keep my thick white robes next to my spa. When getting out you can be a part of wrapping your sweetie up in it and then holding him or her tight in your arms. One last little moment of romantic pleasure.

OK, you're now ready for your evening. Pull back The Spa Bra Cover and bring your honey to your casbah. It's your evening. You've put a lot of time and thought into creating moments that are memories in the making.

GOING HOME, SO WE CAN COME BACK -Arizona Winter Visitors

I grew up in Arizona, so it is difficult for me to comprehend at times that I live in a Winter Vacation Destination. After all it's going to be in the 70's tomorrow.

Imagine the Old West as it was so many years ago. People came from all over the United States in search of warmth of the sunshi
ne...Valley of The Sun! Weary Winter visitors came West ! There is no other place in the United States that exemplifies the term snowbird heaven more than Arizona and the Greater Phoenix area. The "Valley of the Sun," or the "Valley" as us locals call it. The Valley averages 300 days of sunshine a year. Winter snow is virtually unheard of in Phoenix with daytime temperatures during the months of November through April range from the upper 40s to 80s.

300,000 winter visitors come each year. More winter visitors travel to the East Valley than any other part of Arizona.
The 120,000 snowbirds who wintered in Phoenix's eastern suburbs last year spent about $350 million, the economic equivalent of hosting a Super Bowl. They reside in RV's, Mobile Home's and many have been coming to the Valley for so long that they purchase homes here. Many come to party, to play golf and to bask in the beautiful Arizona sunshine. And then they leave!

Our snowbirds have more to do than just sit in the sun. They come to enjoy their favorite Cactus League Baseball Spring Training Games, they play golf, they fish in our many beautiful canyon lakes and don't forget basking in the warmth of the sun, floating effortlessly in their sparkling cool pools or spending their evenings sitting with friends in their spa's under the beautiful crisp desert sky.

When they leave, they leave their home away from home. No one stays to manage the pool or the spa or to water their plants. They have been doing this for years and can close the doors and be on their way in a New York minute.

We welcome you and we look forward to having you here in Arizona.

For those of you who must drain your spa's and batten down those hatches for the Arizona Monsoon Season, see www.thespabra.com for a spa cover that will hug your hard vinyl cover and protect it from the blazing Arizona sun during the months that you have NEVER seen. Who know better how to protect your spa investment than The Spa Bra, LLC, an Arizona based spa cover company!

Tips For Keeping It Hot!

Remember...the colder it is outside, the longer it will take for your spa or hot tub to heat up. Your spa will need to run longer during the winter to maintain the same temperature as in the warmer months.

The most important thing for reducing the energy requirements of your spa in wintertime is a good insulating cover. Your energy requirements can be further reduced with the simple addition of an inexpensive thermal cover . Not only will a floating blanket help to keep in the heat, but it will also reduce your hot tubs chemical consumption and increase the life of your primary cover.

Remember also to remove the snow from the cover. Most spa covers are not designed to hold the added weight of snow. Laying a plastic tarp over your cover will help prevent damage from a snow shovel, and light snow can be removed by simply pulling off the tarp.

Hang On To Your Spa Bra..It's Monsoon Season!

I live in Arizona, so why would I or anyone else want to sit in a spa in the 101 degree weather we have? Well most likely you wouldn't want to. But if you're one of the many families here in the desert without a beautiful crystal clear pool to cool down in, then you do what you can to stay cool.

In April I usually turn the temperature down in my spa. (Many people empty theirs for the summer) Normally it is maintained at 101 during the winter months. (Yes, we have winter months) As our temperatures rise here in Arizona, I begin lowering the temperature in the spa to around 85-90 degrees. Then in late June to early July there is little reason to heat the spa. Why pay good money when solar energy can take over.

But what about that "cooling down" concept that most pool owners boast about? I know this sounds a little crazy but my little Grand kids love when they come to Arizona and can play in their Grammie's spa, filled with ICE. Yes..ICE! Four or five (or as many as you like) cubed or block ice and you're relaxing in a cool, refreshing spa. Just keep the ice coming and everyone's happy and having fun! Well that's until the National Weather Service sends a warning that a Monsoon dust storm with 40-60 mile an hour winds is rolling into the valley from the east. You look up and sure enough..there it is!

You can enjoy your spa year round but remember that we have a pretty miserable Monsoon season here in Arizona. Keep your spa cover on and latched. The wind can pick up your hard cover and have it deposited in the neighbors 10' swimming pool several blocks away in a New York minute. Not to mention the 2" glob of mud that has been blown into your spa.

Batten down the hatches, it will be over in four more weeks!

Have a great summer and enjoy the water. Watch children around pools and spas!

Can You Really Cook Your Brain?

The Harmful Results from Hot Tub Water that is too Hot

The question “can you really cook your brain?” is a difficult question to answer because it depends on each specific situation. If you're speaking literally, then the answer is no. It is impossible to completely cook your brain, just from using a hot tub, but there are a few minor exceptions.

Children's bodies are more sensitive to extreme temperatures than adults, and therefore have a different reaction when exposed to high temperatures. Small children should not be in a hot tub to begin with, but if they are for some reason, they are at risk of damaging their brain and other parts of their body. When a child's head is immersed underwater, the heat that is absorbed can greatly damage the brain. Because children are already susceptible to risk in a hot tub, it will not take long for injury to occur. A good rule of thumb is to keep small children out of a hot tub altogether. Older children can use a hot tub but only for short periods of time -10 minutes maximum - and should never completely immerse their head underwater.

The other exception is related to pregnant women. During pregnancy, women are advised to stay out of hot tubs because of the effects of hot water on the fetus. If a pregnant woman immerses herself in water as hot as what is usually found in a hot tub, she puts her baby at risk of severe brain damage. The hot water will cause the woman's body temperature to rise and the stomach (since it's underwater) will literally become like an oven to the baby. When it comes to pregnancy, it's best to avoid hot tubs and spas at all costs.

So back to the question “can you really cook your brain?” It all depends on what you consider cooking the brain. Burning the brain and severely damaging it is very possible, especially for unborn babies and small children. It would be difficult for an adult to cook their brain in a hot tub unless they purposely raised the temperatures to an extremely high degree and then intentionally immersed their head underneath the water for a long period of time. Can you damage your brain? Yes.

Use caution and common sense when operating a hot tub. In order to decrease the likeliness of brain damage associated with hot tubs, a;lways use a hot tub thermometer to make sure the temperature of the water does not exceed the optimum level recommended by doctors.
